And here you come, so near.

“Spare a coin for an old woman?” (Is my voice not familiar, are my eyes not like yours?)…but I am brushed aside like street filth. Smut underfoot.

“MOVE ASIDE, Old¬†Mother Time”¬†– a guardsman laughs, “Pray allow the King to continue his progress”.

And so passes my son.

She’d never forget this movie. It was the first time Cathy had held hands for more than three seconds.

Ride the tides.

Esther swam on nights when the moon was full. She bathed in its glow and waited for it to speak.

“No matter how often we meet, you remain a mystery” she cried. “Please explain your power over me”. The moon smiled but remained silent.

Sometimes during the day she felt it’s pull….at other times none at all.

Then she understood.

This can’t be happening. It was supposed to make his hair grow thicker…more ‘luxuriant’. For Christ’s sake even his eyebrows had shot through.

Being a thinning ginger was bad enough but this, this topped it.

He’d have to make new plans for his evening. Ring the girlfriend first to suss out whether she could deal with a surprise.

Tell her the surprise.

Deal with the fallout, literally.
